The Devonshire Care Home is located in New Malden, Surrey, England. It provides independence and high quality care services during an elderly person's later years in a beautiful, home away from home setting. Residents either live in or visit as part of the day programme.
Our Mission
At the Devonshire Care Home, we provide our Residents with a high standard of personal care and service.
The Devonshire is committed to helping our Residents make each day meaningful by ensuring quality of life as well as preserving dignity and pride. In the words of the World Health Organisation (WHO): “Years have been added to life and now we must add life to the years”.
Our Philosophy
To encourage independence and provide a warm, caring atmosphere with lots of entertainment and fun so that our Residents can enjoy life at the Devonshire. We feel they deserve the best!
Our Staff
Our team of highly trained and dedicated Staff are committed to providing quality care. Many of our staff have been with the Devonshire for several years.
The Staff Team consists of managers, carers, house keepers, an activities co-ordinator, a dedicated gardener and handyman to maintain the home, and our top-notch chef who loves to prepare home cooked meals and receives raving reviews after each meal! Find out more about our Staff Team.
We carefully select our staff not only to be professionally qualified and experienced but also to have personal qualities that will ensure we provide a high standard of care, patience, understanding, TLC, and a good sense of humour.
We provide ongoing training and assessment of staff, in order that they can continue to maintain the exceptionally high standard of care and commitment that we demand.
Our staff members speak English, Spanish, Hindi, Gujarati, Swahili, and Polish.
Our Residents' Charter
Our Residents have the following rights:
- To privacy and dignity
- To be respected at all times
- To independence, individuality, choice, and decision making
- To be consulted in all matters affecting their health and welfare
- To have control over their daily living (including such simple things like times of awakening and taking meals and personal decision making)
- To be respected when wanting to take responsible or reasonable risk taking, as this is part of maintaining quality of life
- To be treated as a whole person – we emphasis care not only of physical needs but also of the need to be offered social and emotional care
